This combo is the perfect place to start.  The Deluxe Omni Base comes with both 2×4 and 2×1 receivers.  2×4 is for static targets, dueling trees, and other options.  2×1 is for cardboard targets and are set 18″ apart.  The Omni Headpiece is for hanging static targets.   Finally this combo comes with a 2/3 torso 3/8″ AR500 steel static target.
